This will guide you through setting up the first BluFi of your project

Step-by-step guide

There are two separate parts to the provisioning process:

  1.  Making a BluFi template with the right WiFi settings. Please refer to 03. How-to Setup Templates for details.
  2. Physically provisioning BluFi using the Bluzone App

Physical Provisioning of a BluFi:

  1. Launch the Bluzone app on your device
  2. Sign in using your username and password
  3. Click Provision
  4. Click BluFi
  5. Next you will see a list of all the available BluFi around you
  6. Select Setup BluFi Devices
     
  7. The next window will show a list of all BluFi devices around you
  8. Pick the one you will want to provision
    **Note that you will need your device to be as close to the BluFi as possible
  9. Once you have found the BluFi, click on it
     
  10. You will now be in the configuration screen, choose the correct template for the specific device
     
  11. Add a photo (optional) so others will be able to find the device
  12. Add any additional tags you will want on the device
  13. Edit the location if needed
  14. Click Provision BluFi and wait for confirmation
     

Congratulations! You have setup your first BluFi device!

 

 

Wi-Fi can work over one of two spectrum bands: 2.4GHz or 5GHz. Before proceeding with configuration, please ensure your Wi-Fi configuration uses a 2.4GHz SSID.

  • The BluFi Device is compatible with 2.4GHz bands only.
  • The BluFi device is compatible with dual band networks but the BluFi must connect to the 2.4GHz band SSID.
  • The BluFi requires Wi-Fi network that are designed for m2m. A Wi-Fi network with web html login is not supported.
  • Please also ensure that the Wi-Fi network firewall settings do not restrict BluFi connectivity.
