Following are step-by-step instruction on how to update acceleration sensitivity of a beacon:

  1. Provision the beacon on your Bluzone.io account. Detailed instructions are available at 05. How-to Setup Beacons
  2. Place the beacon on a flat and leveled surface of the motor, not the plate
  3. Install bluzone app found in Apple store
  4. Launch app
  5. Provision iBeek using the "Default iBeek Template - Condition Monitoring"
  6. Once provisioned successfully, you will observe the values of X, Y, and Z change on the app screen as you shake the beacon, confirming that the update process is successful
  7. At this time, you may setup desired policies (motion) on your Bluzone.io account. Detailed instruction are available at 06. How-to Setup Policies

Motion calibration:  It's best to perform calibration during beacon installation. There’s a checkbox in the beacon general tab view in portal called “Automated motion calibration”. When you select this, Bluzone will automatically track motion on the beacon to determine its levels of motion.

    1. Ensure iBeek is provisioned and mounted properly
    2. Ensure motion broadcasts use an advertisement rate of 2Hz or higher (for best results)
    3. Ensure beacon is at rest
    4. Select motion calibration checkbox in the console
    5. Wait for 3-5 minutes before moving the beacon (or enabling the attached motor)
    6. Let calibration run for at least 24 hours; make sure that motion occurs during that time
    7. Disable calibration checkbox in the console

During this process, Bluzone will establish a motion baseline (no-motion) and record any motion that goes beyond that threshold. Those motion levels will be translated into proper sensitivity settings. The settings will finally be applied to the physical beacon using a device job. You should let this process run for at least a day since jobs are only scheduled every couple of hours to avoid job overflow.
